Pseudo hiatus or just writers block?

So, it's been two weeks since my last blog post... but who's really counting, right? I guess I could say I had writers block, but then that wouldn't be entirely truthful - I always have so much to say. So, I'll just settle with the idea of a hiatus, which came unexpectedly, for, I believe, my laziness did get the best of me.

But, to get things back on track, I do have an issue I would like to shed light on.

Yesterday, the Minnesota House "voted to put a constitutional amendment defining marriage as between one man and one woman in front of voters on the 2012 ballot," says Jon Collins from St. Louis Park Patch this afternoon. The vote came in at 70-62, most of which were consistent with the Democrat - Republican party lines, although four Republicans voted against the bill and two DFLers joined the Republicans in voting for it.

What does this mean, you may ask?

This means that the vote is in our hands. We, as Minnesotans, will decide whether or not we violate the 14th Amendment of the Constitution that states, "no state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, pr property, without due process of law; not deny to any person within its jurisdiction the protection of the laws."


This bill, clearly unconstitutional, will be in the fate of our Minnesota voters. Love is love, and this bill is creating and supporting hate against the LGBTQ folks here in MN.

It's time to take a stand. Thus, I encourage you to VOTE NO to the marriage amendment that will appear on the ballot of the November 6th, 2012 election.

Happy Mother's Day!!

I want to wish every mother out there a very happy Mother's Day!



... not that we should only take ONE day out of the year to celebrate our mothers...

My mother, simply put, is an amazing woman and just one day to honor and celebrate how great of a mother, and human being, she is just isn't enough - but I observe the "holiday," anyway. I hope everyone else was as lucky as I was a got to spend a little time with their mothers today.

When thinking of Mother's Day, I often think of this song (video below). I thought it seemed fitting, so I wanted to share.
