Reflection

In light of the recent events taken place in the last 24 hours, I am speechless. I have nothing good nor bad to say about the assassination of Osama bin Laden. I have been reading many news reports this morning and afternoon, and yet I'm still indifferent.

I was browsing through my Facebook news feed and my dear friend posted this quote from Martin Luther King, Jr. that just seemed to make this ordeal make sense to me, so I thought I'd share.

"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that."
